Krystal Skinner is a Texas-based self-taught artist and creative facilitator whose work celebrates boundless possibilities, community connection, and the healing power of creative expression. Her mixed-media installations, textile works, and public art pieces create uplifting, calming environments rooted in biophilic principles, wellness, and resilience — designed for public engagement and longevity in community spaces.
Through her organization Empty Canvas Creations, she actively makes art accessible to underserved communities, believing creative expression is a universal right that transcends physical and socioeconomic barriers. Her work moves from the deeply personal to the radically communal. What began as subjective expression evolved into abstract work, and then outward — into parks, libraries, healthcare settings, and public squares. Krystal creates immersive, tactile installations that weave together textiles, metalwork, and mixed media, inviting people to touch, explore, and feel less alone. She draws on biophilic principles and color psychology not as aesthetic choices, but as tools — because she knows firsthand that the right environment can literally change how you feel inside it. |
