Touching Texoma Landscapes
As a study for a larger installation, this piece takes a moment in time; driving into the sunset, and begins to share that experience in tactile form. Intended for installation in play spaces the panel, it to be connected with others to form an interactive play space for toy cars to drive on roads, for flowers to be 'planted' and to be picked by patrons to take home.
The vision for this project came to me while driving the backroads of the Texoma area. At the time I was working in an upholstery shop and a great number of discontinued samples were graciously offered to me. I couldn't say no to the texture explosion and held on to the fabric for years before the opportunity presented itself to get the ball rolling.

Living Rainbow - Painted Bunting Sculpture
Living Rainbow reimagines the Painted Bunting as a creature of pure color and motion — welded steel finished in a weatherproof sculpting medium, built to hold its color and form through years outdoors. Installed at Theatricks, the children's theatre of the Sherman Community Players, it marks the second piece in a growing North Texas public art trail extending south along US-75 toward McKinney and the greater DFW area. Funded by the Texas Commission on the Arts, the piece is built for permanence in public space, so it becomes part of the everyday landscape rather than a destination people have to seek out.
